Applying your Decal
1. Make sure the surface of the bin is clean and free from any dirt, grime, grease, or mould by washing with warm soapy water. (NB: if your bin is not clean your sticker will curl in a matter of days)
2. Now, wet the side of the bin with soapy water (a spray bottle works best). A wet surface allows you to maneuver the sticker till you are happy with its placing. If the surface is too dry the vinyl will stick right away and you will not be able to you will need to have a wet surface in order to reposition the sticker till you are happy with its placement. If the surface is too dry, the sticker will immediately stick to the bin and you will not be able to shift it if required.
3. Once you have placed the sticker in the desired location. Remove a strip of the backing paper about 10cm in length, and push the exposed sticker to the surface of the bin, pushing out any excess water. The top of the sticker is adhered and this should keep the image in place while you finish off the lower half. Check one more time that your sticker is level before sticking the remainder of the sticker.
4. Once the sticker is applied to the top, remove the backing paper entirely. Hold the bottom of the sticker firmly, in one hand about 20cm from the bin, while wiping down the surface of the sticker with your free hand. We recommend you use a squeegee applying even pressure in a left to right motion from top to bottom. If using a credit card, we recommend you first cover it with a tissue or soft cloth, so that it does not scratch the sticker.
5. IMPORTANT! Scrape all air bubbles out to the nearest exposed edge and squeeze out any excess water. Air Bubbles could cause the sticker to crack over time.
6. Proudly park your new Wheelie design bin in the street next bin day!
